Promotion of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene at the community level is of paramount importance because this is linked with development objectives at the grass root (Communal) level. FLO takes cognizance of the fact that project activity implementation is greatly influenced by the hygiene standards and health of the communities in project locations. In view of this FLO’s strategic program also entails WASH as its key project component. WASH bears a strong correlation with DRR and ERP. For example in Thmey commune outbreak of cholera and typhoid happens regularly. Last year about 250 people from the commune were hospitalized after a cholera outbreak and 8 people died as a result of this epidemic.
