FLO – Institutional Development

The Internal Institutional Development Program is aimed at making FLO’s team better at helping local communities. By improving our staff’s skills and knowledge, we make sure they have the latest tools to deal with the unique challenges faced by the communities we serve. This program focuses on Professional Development, Organizational Development, Innovation and Adaptation, Community Trust Building.

Professional Development


Objective: Enhance the skills, knowledge, and expertise of FLO’s team to effectively address the unique challenges faced by the communities we work with.

  • Activities:
  • Professional Development Training: We participate in regular training sessions and workshops on the latest tools, strategies, and best practices in community development.
  • NGO Networking Sessions: Participate in seminars and discussions to share knowledge and experiences between NGOs.
  • External Expertise: We work together with Planète Urgence to hire expert volunteers for specialized training sessions to provide advanced insights and techniques.

Impact: Improved expertise and effectiveness of the team in community development activities. Enhanced ability to create sustainable and innovative solutions for community empowerment. Increased trust and confidence from the communities we serve.

Organizational Development


Objective: Build the organizational capacity of FLO to ensure efficient and effective delivery of our programs and initiatives.

  • Activities:
  • Organizational Development: Develop and implement internal systems and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and periodically review strategic plans to align organizational goals with community needs.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish robust monitoring and evaluation systems to track progress and measure the impact of our programs.

Impact: Enhanced organizational efficiency and effectiveness in program delivery. Improved alignment of organizational goals with community needs and priorities. Greater accountability and transparency in program implementation.

Building Community Trust


Objective: Build and maintain trust with the communities by demonstrating our commitment to their development and well-being.

  • Activities:
  • Community Engagement: Regularly engage with community members to understand their needs, concerns, and expectations.
  • Transparency and Accountability: Maintain transparency in all our activities and hold ourselves accountable to the communities we serve.

Impact: Strengthened trust and relationships with community members. Improved community satisfaction and confidence in our programs and initiatives. Enhanced reputation and credibility of FLO within the communities we serve.

Forests and Livelihood Organization

FLO is a non-profit local organization, established by a team of local people in Kratie Province, Northeastern Cambodia. The staff is mostly selected from target communities, indigenous people and former CBO members.
